Ingredients

Scale

For the Sandwich:

  • 1 lb ribeye steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 8 slices provolone or American cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Optional Additions:

  • Sautéed mushrooms
  • Hot peppers

Instructions

  • Sauté the Vegetables:

    • Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Add sliced onions and bell peppers, sautéing for 4–5 minutes until tender and slightly caramelized.
    • Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • Cook the Steak:

    • In the same skillet, heat the remaining tablespoon of olive oil.
    • Add the thinly sliced ribeye steak, cooking for 2–3 minutes until browned.
    • Stir in Worcestershire sauce, then season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Assemble the Cheesesteak:

    • Return the sautéed vegetables to the skillet and mix with the steak.
    • Divide the steak and vegetable mixture into 4 equal portions.
    • Top each portion with 2 slices of cheese and allow it to melt over the steak.
  • Serve & Enjoy:

    • Load each portion into a soft hoagie roll.
    • Optionally, add sautéed mushrooms or hot peppers for extra flavor.
    • Serve immediately while hot and melty!

Notes

  • For extra flavor, toast the hoagie rolls with a little butter before assembling.
  • Use ribeye steak for the most tender and juicy bite.
  • Freeze the steak for 20 minutes before slicing for thin, even cuts.
