Description

This Lobster Roll recipe is a seafood lover’s dream, featuring tender, buttery lobster meat tossed in a light, creamy dressing with fresh herbs and lemon juice. Served in a toasted, buttery roll, it’s the ultimate summer sandwich that’s quick and easy to make at home!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Lobster Salad:

  • 1 lb cooked lobster meat, chopped into bite-sized pieces
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon celery, finely diced

For the Rolls:

  • 4 New England-style split-top rolls (or any soft, buttery rolls)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (for toasting the rolls)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Lobster Meat:

    • If using whole lobster, cook it according to your preferred method, remove the meat, and chop into bite-sized pieces.
    • If using pre-cooked lobster, simply chop it into chunks.
  • Make the Lobster Salad:

    • In a medium bowl, mix mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, paprika, salt, and pepper to create a creamy dressing.
    • Gently fold in the lobster meat, diced celery, and chopped chives.
    • Toss to combine and taste to adjust seasoning.
  • Toast the Rolls:

    • In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
    • Lightly toast the split-top rolls until golden and crispy on the outside, about 1–2 minutes per side.
  • Assemble and Serve:

    • Spoon the lobster mixture generously into each toasted roll.
    • Serve immediately with a squeeze of fresh lemon on top.

Notes

  • Use Fresh Lobster – Freshly cooked lobster meat provides the best flavor.
  • For a Lighter Version – Swap mayonnaise with Greek yogurt or a mix of both.
  • Make It More Decadent – Add a drizzle of melted butter over the lobster meat before serving.
