Description

These BBQ Ribs & Baked Beans bring bold, smoky flavors to your table with fall-off-the-bone ribs coated in a tangy BBQ sauce and rich, slow-simmered baked beans loaded with bacon. This classic BBQ pairing is perfect for cookouts, family dinners, or weekend gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

For the BBQ Ribs:

  • 2 racks baby back ribs
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground mustard
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (store-bought or homemade)

For the Baked Beans:

  • 2 cans (15 oz each) baked beans
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • ½ cup bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Prepare & Bake the Ribs:

    • Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack over it.
    • Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for a tender texture.
    • In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, ground mustard, cayenne, salt, and black pepper.
    • Rub the spice mixture evenly over the ribs.
    • Place ribs bone-side down on the prepared rack, cover tightly with foil, and bake for 2.5 to 3 hours.
  • Glaze & Grill the Ribs:

    • Remove the ribs from the oven, discard the foil, and brush generously with BBQ sauce.
    • Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat.
    • Grill the ribs for 5–7 minutes per side, basting with more BBQ sauce, until caramelized and sticky.
  • Prepare the Baked Beans:

    • In a medium saucepan, combine baked beans, brown sugar, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and diced onion.
    • Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens (10–15 minutes).
    • Stir in crumbled bacon and season with salt and pepper to taste.

  • Serve & Enjoy:

    • Slice the BBQ ribs into individual portions and serve with baked beans on the side.
    • Garnish with chopped parsley or extra BBQ sauce, if desired.

Notes

  • For extra smoky flavor, add a teaspoon of liquid smoke to the baked beans or use smoked paprika in the rub.
  • Slow cooking makes ribs ultra-tender, so don’t rush the baking process.

  • Double-baste with BBQ sauce for extra sticky, caramelized ribs.
